The GrowSF Voter Guide has landed
We’ve reached the last election for 2022 — our fifth election in 14 months 😅! We’re just as tired as you are, but luckily we did the hard work for you: our San Francisco Voter Guide is now ready!
Here are our most important endorsements for this November:
District 4 Supervisor (Sunset): Joel Engardio
District 6 Supervisor (SOMA, Mission Bay): Matt Dorsey
District Attorney: Brooke Jenkins
School Board: Ann Hsu, Lainie Motamedi, Lisa Weissman-Ward
And the most important ballot measures:
✅ Yes on Prop 1 - Constitutional right to abortion
✅ Yes on Prop 30 - Investments in fighting and preventing wildfires, and reducing carbon emissions and air pollution from vehicles
❌ No on Prop C - More red tape around homeless services
✅ Yes on Prop D - Make it easier to build homes
❌ No on Prop E - Board of Supervisors anti housing measure
✅ Yes on Prop J - Keep JFK Promenade open
❌ No on Prop M - New property tax on unoccupied housing
❌ No on Prop O - New parcel tax for City College

5 people cost the city $4 million in ambulance transports
Just five people cost the city $4 million over the last five years in ambulance trips alone. In total, these five homeless individuals took at least 1,781 ambulance trips.
Our current system is not working and everyone suffers for it. The city and residents needs to come together to reduce homelessness and to provide the services and treatments they need. It’s inhumane to let people refuse treatment and shelter, and the cost the city racks up for this leniency is too high.
Car free Valencia is back and car free JFK is turning golden
It’s hard to get a group as diverse and free-thinking as San Franciscans to agree on anything, but one thing we all agree on is how awesome car-free JFK is. In polling conducted by the city, 70% of respondents said that they wanted JFK closed to car traffic permanently. Proposition J on November’s ballot would make this change permanent, and also prevent Proposition I from allowing cars back on JFK.

SF sued by nonprofit for homeless sweeps
The SF Chronicle reported the city was sued by a nonprofit over encampment sweeps. Instead of suing the city and advocating for policies to keep people on the streets, we need to work together to rapidly build interim shelter including innovative tiny homes. People need an interim solution while waiting for permanent housing—a place to shower and secure belongings so they can find to a job.
The waiting line for housing should not be on a street. Street sleeping is bad for the individual on the street, it’s bad for surrounding businesses and it’s bad for surrounding residents. We should put every effort behind scaling up secure interim shelter NOW so sweeps can be a thing of the past.
